Pastor Jim – Are You Finished?
I figured someone would be inspired by this summer series to take on a unique DIY task.
One man was given the task (by his wife) to DIY a new faucet; another man was given the task (again by his wife) to refinish the kitchen cabinets!
Are you noticing a theme here? 🙂
If you are a husband, you will agree with me that these “Honey-Do” lists are quite common. But let me ask this – why is it more often than not the wife giving the husband the honey-do list, and not the other way around?
Guys – help me out here – we aren’t looking so great right now!
In all seriousness, some projects are harder than others. And us guys are not all miraculous handymen who can do almost anything. Some of us are better off helping the children with school work, or organizing the pantry. There are actually some wives here at our church that do the physically taxing DIY projects while their DIY-challenged husbands clean the house!
All of us, single or married, sooner or later come across that DIY project that just won’t go away.
And when it comes to spiritual things, those who like to finish everything NOW are shocked to discover this one inescapable fact – God is not finished with US yet!
This Sunday, we will be looking at the story of the two travelers walking down the road to Emmaus from The Gospel of Luke, chapter 24. Both of them feared it was too late to experience the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
But, they couldn’t have been more wrong.
Come this Sunday as we join these two travelers in the message, “DIY – The Never-Ending Project!”
And invite a friend… it could change their life for eternity,
